About Airlines of Tasmania:
Airlines of Tasmania is a small regional airline based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It operates a fleet of light aircraft on scheduled services between Launceston in Tasmania, Flinders Island and Essendon Airport in Melbourne in Victoria on the Australian mainland. It also operates under the name Par-Avion.
In the 1970s, the company had regular services to the West Coast utilising the Queenstown and Strahan Airports. In 1984 a separate brand, Par-Avion, was established; Par-Avion provides wilderness tours and scenic flights. In the 2004-2005 year there was a service between Hobart and Strahan, but this service was closed due to marginal profits. Early in 2008 the airline moved its Melbourne operations from Moorabbin Airport to Essendon Airport.
